I was watching some LOTR appendices while cleaning my room last Saturday, and I found some really funny things that you LOTR lovers would like:
1) Before they were finished with the Weta Workshop design for Pippin(Billy Boyd)'s helmet, they had it looking like the helmet that you see in the movie, but with big wings on either side, like this:
looks ridiculous, dosen't it? Imagine Pippin wearing something like this?!?
2) in The Two Towers, when the orcs are pounding their spears against the ground in the battle at Helm's Deep, that originated from the lead orcs pounding their spears against the ground in time to a song they were singing, and pretty soon all seven hundred guys were pounding their spears in time. Strange way to do it, huh?
3) When Saruman sends the orcs and uruk-hai out to attack Rohan in the same film, the cheering you hear was actually recorded on a football field. They got all the people to chant and jump up and down in time to each other. Interesting...?
4) In the pick-ups for Return of the King, they were forced to use the back lot at Stone Street for shooting all the stuff. So you'd walk through there, and in five to ten minutes you'd have gone through Mordor, Pelennor Fields, Rohan, and Rivendell. All in one parking lot!!!
if you guys get any more cool stuff, try to get it to me please! By the way, the first thing, about Pippin's helmet, it's on the fifth CD in the appendices, but you have to have the extended version. Have fun!
