This is a poem that I wrote whilst doing spelling a couple days ago (I did finish the spelling, for those of you who are sticklers) and I thought you all might like it. Feel free to criticize. But for Hannah's sake (she almost ripped it up, and ripped the fold lines) this is not to be insulting to anyone. I don't think it is, but there you are.
Why Nobody Should Become A Librarian
To those of you who like to read,
Believe me, it is true,
There are things that you must never be,
This is my advice to you.
Never try to work in libraries,
Lest you spend all the day with a book,
For rather than work, indeed you would shirk,
Curled up in a cozy nook,
When trying to straighten out shelves,
You will come across a book that you like,
Then sit on the floor, regardless of chore,
And certainly be there all night!
Or, if that's not the case, then there's others,
That beset you from all of your sides,
And then you will moan, and then you will groan,
"But reading improveth the mind!"
So take my advice, I beg you,
So as you do not have cause to weep.
But if you do, then I'll say to you,
At a book you NEVER must peep!
Now with working in bookstores....
- Rebekah Sutherland
For those of you who criticize, I beg of you to word it nicely!
PS - I would like some comments that are positive as well!!
